I Need An Impala

I must say I have been incredibly productive today. Here is my sticky note "To-do" list.

Please. Get Yourself a Spare Key.

Misfortune likes to follow me around like an emaciated lion. I spent all my morning working really fast to file a few things for one of our attorneys. A quarter to 2:00, I decided it was time to go to Safeway and get some groceries, for I had been foodless for a few days now and had skipped breakfast this morning. So, famished, I walked through the isles saying no to myself.

"Can I have some cheezits?"
"No, those are so bad for you. You can only get Ritz"
"Aww... oh! How about some cookies to keep in the drawer?"
"No. We are getting a bag of candy for the whole office."
"Fine... pop tarts?"
".........*debating*....no, how about strawberries instead?"
This is how it goes for the rest of the time. Once I get to the register, I space out while the clerk is ringing me up.

"$82.54" he says. Ouch. I swipe the card and enter my pin. He tells me it was declined. Oh crap, I only had $70 something in checking. I then give him a few dollars and some change, then give back the bag of candy for the office. I was not happy with that.

So, I left Safeway with $3.25 in my checking. Once I get to the office I turn off my car, put my keys in my purse, open the door, lock it and close it. I pause. I look back in the car. The locked car. There sits my purse, keys, phone, and frozen food. I run inside and ask all the males in the office if they know how to break into a car. Some do, but not the kind of car I have. So after a few failed attempts involving a borrowed (stolen) car antennae and an office ornamental piece, I resign myself to failure and call a lock smith.

Within 30 minutes he's there. As I walk out to the car, THE hot man from the office next to mine coming walking in from the opposite direction. I casually mention what happened and he sympathizes and then tells me that I should have came and got him*. He knew a guy here that knew how to do it. This all happens as the locksmith runs my card for $125. I mentally slap myself and try not to look like a goober as I finish up the transaction.

Now I just want to go home. So it's time to look at the positives.
1. Although it cost me $125 for the 10.7 seconds it took to get it unlocked, he threw in a free spare key!
2. I did not look completely horrid today.
3. The food in my car did not completely thaw. I'm guessing it's all still edible.
4. I learned that I can unscrew car antennae.
5. I was able to talk to the hot guy even though I'm sure he sees me as an incompetent, forgetful little girl.

*I'd like to mention that this man has also helped me when I couldn't get the key to turn while I was trying to lock up one night, he showed me where to put coolant into my car since I told him I had a leak, and now he offering further services. And he's hot.

Not The Right Atmosphere For A Clever Title

I had a dream last night. I dream all the time actually, but last nights was something different. This morning it was still extremely detailed in my memory. I was going to write it down right when I got to work, but by the time I was out of the shower it had completely escaped my memory. Holding on to a dream is like holding onto a cat. You've got to keep constant focus on it or it'll slip right out of your grasp.

Back to last nights dream. I remember being led in a great mass of people into a huge underground cavern. The people "herding" us were Lord Voldemort, Bellatrix, and a few other androgynous Death Eaters. *Don't laugh, in the dream it made sense* I remember the atmosphere of the area was silent panic. There was a moment when I realized that this was it. We were all going to die in there. I looked around for anyone I knew, any familiar face at all. The throng of people moved quickly about, most likely doing the same thing I was doing. I was upset. I didn't want to die yet. I felt that this wasn't the right time and started to panic.

Then I saw a boy I knew (he will not be named and even thought I have a crush on him, I don't know him very well.) I was so happy to see him, to see anyone I knew. He seemed pretty relieved too. I ran up to him and he grabbed my hand (it's what you do in a deadly situation like that). I asked him if he knew what was happening. He had the same notion that I did, that this was the end. He looked at me and confessed his slight attraction for me, and I for him. He smiled a beautiful smile (he has one of the best smiles around) and said "I like everything you do". A very simple line, but I felt instantly better. It was a sweet gesture at this morbid time, so I did what any ill-fated heroine would do, I kissed him. This dream was extremely detailed, I noticed that his lips were dry but still warm. It was an urgent but simple kiss.

I thought to myself, and knowing I faced inevitable death, I tried to calm down and prepare myself to die. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to tell you that this is a hard thing. I truly felt the emotional pain, I stood there and held myself as I reconciled with what was about to happen. I can't describe the feeling, but it was one of the most intense feelings I've ever had. This is what I'm trying to convey to you; last night I mentally and emotionally went through the experience of coming to face my own death and having to accept that. A muted version of those feelings still hang over me today.

Now that I was ready to die, something caught my eye. It was my younger brother. Although he is 16 now, in the dream he was back to his 4 year old self.
Obviously, I couldn't allow any harm come to my little brother, so my brain went into Super Hero Mode. I grabbed him and frantically looked for an escape. By now, the bad guys were starting to load people into this huge metal holding compartment. I noticed a small crack in the wall and we were able to slip out of the cavern. We laid on our stomach and looked back into the crack. Once everyone was contained, they turned a machine on and gas started filling the chamber. I could hear their banging on the walls until it slowly quieted down to nothing. I pulled Joey up and we ran out of there.

Now that I look back on it, I feel terrible that I didn't stop to help the others, but I guess I can't change that. The rest of the dream consisted of running around in a "post apocalyptic" type world where there were only a few survivors. Keeping my brother safe was my only goal and I think I actually started accumulating other orphaned kids that I took care of as well.

I have an idea on what the dream means but I won't go into that (if you ask me, I may tell you) but I just wanted to write it out. I don't want to forget this one.

Sorry for the serious post, but it must happen from time to time. I just want you to know that I faced my own death, and I am proud of the way that I handled it. That is all.

A Day In The Life

I woke up this morning and felt like just laying in bed forever. My blankets were doing that thing where they are the warmest things in the world and my mattress was like "I decided I will mold perfectly to your shape right now." This creates the most comfortable bed experience ever. The only downside? 6:30 means I need to get my butt going or I'll be late for work. So, naturally at 6:50, I can stave it off no longer, and I roll from my bed. The room is a little spinny so I stop and take a moment to steady myself. Then I see my fish staring at me, converging at the corner of the tank closest to me, their happy little faces and tails wiggly with excitement. Distracted, I feed them and watch them dart around for a few minutes. Oops, back to getting ready! I brush my teeth while the shower is warming up and I simultaneously decide whether or not I need to shave my legs and which way I will style my hair. Also, I think of a new story idea.

Once I was all squeaky clean, I styled my hair and thought of which movies I would like to star in. I find the most comfortable office appropriate outfit and debate if I should break in my new pink heels. Hmm, I'd probably just break my leg. Clad in comfy shoes, I spray my hair and start to walk out the door. But wait, should I put a flower in my hair? This takes about 2 minutes for me to make up my mind, walk back to my room, and clip the little blue flower into my locks. I'd say it was a good waste of time, seeing as I got compliment for the flower. *fist pump*

Once at work, I go into OFFICE MODE. This is a frightening experience, let me tell you. Filing receipts, checks, bank statements, they all go flying about! The keyboard can't keep up with my fingers as they tear across the keys at Mach Speed. Clients are satisfied as I quickly direct them to the attorney of their choosing, and all the mail was deftly sliced open, sorted and logged.

Lunch break rolls about. I get on blogger and read the new posts from my favorite writers, I decide I will (yet again) update my blog. This goes on for the rest of the break. Then, I think of my fish. They are so cute that I decide it's time for Time to hurry up and be 5:30 so I can go home and feed them!

Then I come to the conclusion that I will die alone.

Have a good day.

Brain Vomit... Or Chunks. You pick.

I haven't posted much this week and I blame it on my dull life. Well, I won't say dull. It's just not the most exciting, event filled, action packed, gut wrenching, tear jerking, utterly romantic existence ever. I'm okay with that. Nothing has been really "blog worthy".

I am sitting here (at work) trying to motivate my brain. I drank too much water but I refuse to go to the bathroom right now because I know that in 10 minutes I will have to go again. My work is done, lunch has been eaten, my desk has been sanitized 10 times over. So now I write.

Warning: Brain Vomit

Tomorrow Ariel, David, and I will host another "Writer's Circle"; a group of inspiring authors who get together and share writing tips and strategies, complete writing exercises, and share writing that we have already been working on. We give constructive criticism and feedback, knowing that we wont hurt each others feelings due to the fact that we are pretty tactful (that's what we think). If you are interested, check out Word Faction, where you can submit your work for review or join us for our weekly (close enough) Writer's Circle meeting.

This is basically how I feel right now.

This forced writing is just painful.
"Forced?" You say. "Who is forcing you?"
I am, gosh dang it!
I'm forcing myself right now to write something, anything, just so my brain doesn't explode and get little chunks and goo all over this very nice computer monitor!

I think the reason I feel so feisty right now is because my bladder is full.
Excuse me one moment...

Okay, I'm back. I decided, whilst relieving my bladder, that I will share some secrets with you. Super exciting, right? So here they are:
  • The amount of time I spend on the computer each day is longer than the time I spend sleeping each night.
  • I am short, and my pants are too long, so I had to roll the hems up to keep them from dragging. Yeah, like your mother used to do to your pants when you were 5.
  • I still daydream about Pokemon being real. I'm currently debating what my starting Pokemon will be.
  • Yes, I like boys but I will do nothing, nothing to pursue them. Woe is me.
  • The hair on my legs grow really really fast, so I need to shave every day (but I don't).
  • No matter what I say, spiders scare me. Crickets too.
  • I sleep with stuffed animals, but they are so full of character and spunk (and fluffy stuff) that I feel bad if one even falls out of the bed.
  • When riding on a plane I always, without fail, imagine the scenario of the plane plummeting to the ground and try to mentally prepare myself for my death.
That's enough secrets for now, and believe me, those aren't even the cool ones.

Art Feature time!!

We Will Not Be Silenced

I like my blog. It's like a journal that I can "pass around" for you to read, but it's mostly for selfish reasons that I write this. I just wanted to say, or rather, declare that this is my space and I will write exactly what I want, the whole truth, with no censorship. Don't get your panties in a bunch now, because I wont be posting anything profane or vulgar (at least not super vulgar) because that's just not me. I will not apologize for what I have to say, what I want to say; however, I will not be spilling any deep dark secrets on here. That goes on my secret blog (yes, I have two.)

Since I got older and a little more brave, I tend to say what I'm thinking but I enjoy using my freedom of speech, and no one is going to take that away from me. Ever. God bless those who fight so we can keep our freedom.

So now I declare that I will not be censored.

I will get off my soapbox now. Thank you.

Honestly, I've Never Seen Jersey Shore

Ariel and I were having a conversation on gmail chat and it sparked a good question. One of those age old questions like: where did we come from? Why are we here? Why is Jersey Shore still on air? See below for an excerpt of the conversation.

 Ariel:
Why are you so white?
Sent at 1:26 PM on Monday
me:  ....This I don't know. It baffles me.
 Ariel:  That's okay.
There are worse things.
 me:  Like?
 Ariel:  ...
..
.
..
...
Rabies.
me:  0_o but that might be fun. Funner than white.
I'd make friends
Sent at 1:30 PM on Monday
Ariel:  They'd put you down right quick.
Sent at 1:31 PM on Monday
me:  No way. Would you rather be friends with a person who is extremely pasty white or someone wild and unpredictable with rabies?
 Ariel:  Well...
It would be kind of fun to see what the rabies person would do...
And I could laugh at their foaming and frothing.
Sent at 1:33 PM on Monday
me:  exactly! But a white friend? They will only be white, and blind you with it, and you'll spend all your time asking yourself "Why is she so white?

This is true, don't you think?

A Side Note

Just a small side note. Those of you who read "Lessons I (re)Learned This Week", I went to the pet store with my receipt to get a refund for the fish that had died, and the lady asked me if I had the actual fish with me. Appalled, I asked if I was supposed to hold on to their rotting corpses until I had time to bring them in.

She said yes.

Travel, Books, and Hot Cops

Before I start, I wanted to point out the sheer coincidence that in my last post I bragged about never getting pulled over in my 3 years of driving and the very next day I got pulled over not 1 minute after leaving my house. I guess I was going 10 over in a residential area. Who knew? To tell you the truth, I found it all very exciting. The cop was very nice, had cool gloves, and a beautiful motorcycle (not to mention the classic aviators). I fought the urge to compliment his cool riding gear since I figured he wanted me to pay attention to the gentle reprimand he was giving. After graciously accepting my ticket and bidding the cop good day, I happily pulled out onto the road and sang the whole way to work.

I guess it's all about perspective.

There are a few things I want to touch on in this blog. The first was the ticket, next is books. Books: My true love. Mom, Ariel and I went to Half Priced Books again. I go there so often, yet I am able to find at least 5-8 books I must have and pay no more than $25, which is amazing. This last trip I was able to grab a complete collection of The Chronicles of Narnia in one book for only $4, The complete collection of Poe's works for $10, Bram Stoker's Dracula for $1.50, Sanctuary for $6, and a waste of money for a $a waste of money.  The money waster was a lame attempt at a vampire novel. True, I am a sucker for those (no pun intended), but they have to be the good stuff written like Anne Rice and Stephanie Meyer (me = Twilight book fan). This novel that I got had me cringing at each use of the word "totally" and "super cute". There is a limit to how many times OMG can be used in one chapter. *gag* Sadly enough, I am 1/3 of the way through it and I will have to finish it, because that's what I do. Maybe when I'm done I'll sell it back to Half Priced Books. Or burn it.

Hmm the next thing I would like to talk about... is... well I went to Washington this weekend. It was a long one in both in the good and bad sense. The good stuff is I was able to be home, laze about, help my Dad and brother clean the house in anticipation of my mother's return from her stay in AZ, sleep in my own bed, attend my old ward, and visit a few of my dear friends. The bad would be going to bed from 1:30-4:40 each night and waking up early. I must say I'm still recovering. But it was worth it to see everyone again and drive through the streets of the town I spent a good portion of my life in. It had a Twilight Zone feel to it, like I was there, but not physically there and it also made my last 8 months in Arizona feel like a dream.

Lots of mixed emotions. And some random pictures.
Right as we pulled into Sunnyside. Notice the Mexico sticker. Home sweet home.

Lessons I (re)Learned This Week

Unfortunately, you can't go a day without learning something new, even if it's just a small realization. I thought a good idea for a blog would be to revisit those lessons and share them with anyone that will read them. Seriously, I'm not picky. So, here we go!

Lesson #1 - PetSmart has a two week return policy on fish.
I really had no idea. I bought my first few fish at Petco (just because it was closer) and later bought a few more at PetSmart (about 8 of them). The lady who was so kind to have snatched up my fish told me if some didn't make it, I could get a refund. Well, I didn't plan on letting them die, but low and behold, every single last one of my fish that I got from PetSmart died, including 4 from Petco. Devastated, I took a water sample to the store to see what deadly thing was killing them all.
Tester Lady: "Your water is fine!"

Me: "Then why are my fish dying??!?"

Tester Lady:  I don't know!

Time to use that refund policy.

Lesson #2 - Bruce Willis is all man.
You must be thinking, "You just learned this??" To that my reply would be "well, kinda." For as long as I have known who Bruce Willis is, I knew he was the roughest, toughest, hottest, smartest, sweetest, cool man ever (until my future husband comes along), but this week I got to watch a movie with him in it *cough pulp fiction cough cough* and he was hands down, my favorite character. I was watching it and my sister said "Holy cow, Bruce Willis is all man. And I though, yes. Yes he is.

________________________________________________________________

Lesson #3 - Everyone is a bad driver. Some are just worse than others.
This is completely true. No one who has ever driven a car can say that they have never sped, got a ticket, bumped a car, or anything else for that matter, went over the curb, parked badly, on accident or purposefully cut someone off, drove too slow, made someone car sick, etc. We have all done it. I was driving the other day and I was congratulating myself on being such a good driver. Never even been pulled over! But then I almost took a wrong turn and quickly swerved back into my original lane. Did I even check to see is anyone was behind me? Nope. That could have been messy.

_______________________________________________________________________

Lesson #4 - Always have a spare key.
I was at an estrogen filled party last night, similar to one of those Tupperware parties. The evening went well and we all had fun. My sister works early in the morning so she decided to leave a little early. Not 3 minutes later, she comes back in. She had locked the keys in her car, while the car was running (she has bad luck with cars). Anyway, there was no spare key in existence and a locksmith had to be called, and those guys are not cheap! So we plan to get her a spare or two for next time. I probably will too.

_____________________________________________________________________

Lesson #5 - A week is too short to learn more than 4 lessons.
Maybe next week I will have more life shaking lessons learned.

She's got some amazing photography skills!

Uncomfortable Birthday Bash!

I'm entirely obsessed with my stats. And by that I mean the ones regarding how many times my blog is viewed. I know not many people visit (about 7 today already!!) but I do get very excited when I see I had 181 views in the last months! Then I remind myself that half the people don't even read it and probably just skip on to the next blog. Then I remind myself that it doesn't matter if anybody read it because I was doing this for the sake of writing.

I totally lost my train of thought. At work yesterday, we had a birthday party. With myself being the receptionist, it is my duty to order a cake and select a card. The first few birthdays were stressful for me, I could tell you why but then you would think I was a weenie. Those first few times, I got cakes that were way too big and cards that were generically festive. I was the new girl and I hadn't quite got a hold of the humor of each employee, the fact that some of them even had a sense of humor was debatable. So to play it safe, I got the cards that said something along the lines of- "you're a good person, this is a celebration".

Now that I've been here a while and I got my sass back (which is a necessity if you work around some of these attorneys) I decided it was time for a funny card. The attorney whose birthday it was is a younger guy with a subtle, yet witty sense of humor. In the card section of Fry's, I noticed a Star Wars card (which I now think is a little odd). I picked out out and was about to leave when I noticed dear Edward Cullen looking at me with smoldering eyes. The card said something to the affect of "Hope your birthday doesn't bite, *open card* except in that cute vampire sort of way".

To say the least, everybody in the office got a good kick out of it. The birthday boy looked slightly pink in the cheeks but accepted the card with grace. I saw later that he had stood it up on his desk the rest of the day. That day, I really took what one of the attorneys had to say to heart. He told me that birthday celebrations aren't for the celebrated, but for the celebrators. That sounds right to me. We celebrate so we can eat their cake, to give them cards that make them feel more than slightly uncomfortable, and share a great day among friends. But mostly to make them uncomfortable.

I'm just thankful my birthday isn't for another 10 months.

Once again, it's time for my Art Feature!

Sniffing and Hummus

It's Friday again. Huzzah. Normally I would be more excited, but the fact that I didn't get to shower today puts a damper on the festive-ness.. I woke up 25 minutes before I had to leave for work which is around the length of a normal shower for me. So I looked in the mirror for a few minutes and contemplated the best way to salvage my bed-head. It didn't take too long to make my hair look decent, but the yucky unwashed feeling doesn't go away with just a washcloth bath.

The 2nd best part about Friday, (1st being the fact that it's the last workday of the week) is that it just so happens to be Casual Friday. My one true love. Besides cats... and lizards... and my fish... and books, etc. But today I had to ruin it by taking forever to get dressed. How I can do that when it's as simple as throwing on jeans and a t-shirt, I have no idea, but for some reason I was being a dinkus and didn't think the outfits "worked". So I feel very badly dressed. Darn you, Haley. Darn you.

Luckily today was busy enough to keep me occupied and there is a nice background sound of my coworkers on the phones or in the conference room. I't better than complete silence where they can hear me yelling at my emails and every sniffle or sneeze I make (yes, I'm sick).

Oh! Do you want to know how I got sick? I'll tell you anyway. Ariel, Mom and I went to Thai Basil, a wonderful restaurant where Ariel always gets the Tofu Pad Thai and I always get the Chicken Yellow Curry. So there we were, chatting and waiting for the waiter.. haha waiting for the waiter. Anyway, we noticed he had a stuffy nose and would wipe his snots on his hand and proceed to bring the food to other patron's tables. Mom warned us to use hand sanitizer. Now that I think of it, I probably deserve it because my thought then was: Psh, I never get sick! I'm as resilient as an ox!!

*sniff*

Serves me right. But, to redeem my hygienically challenged day, myself, Ariel, my Aunt Karen, and my Mom are planning on going to Pita Jungle for dinner. One of my all time favorite places to eat!! I always get the same thing though: Cilantro jalapeno hummus, a pita crisp, and a strawberry banana smoothie. :) This makes me happy.

You know what else makes me happy? Art!

Depression With A Side Of Cool Links

Everyone gets those downer days, right? The times when our day just goes south, or maybe the day was perfectly fine but for some strange reason you can't seem to shake the little grey cloud that hovers above your head. Rain and lightning included.

Yesterday was one of those days for me (and it seems to be spilling into today). A mixture of tired and hopeless is the worst way to start your day. Yesterday after work I was physically, mentally, and emotionally beat. The drive home consisted of listening to only the saddest songs on my iPod at full volume. Why is it that when you're depressed the things that appeal to you most are being alone, sad songs, and heart-wrenching movies? I guess when you're that low, everything else around you has to match.

Once I was home, I slipped out of my uncomfortable work clothes and put on the softest shirt I possessed, some sweat pants and a jacket (yes, I live in Arizona, but my Aunt loves to crank up the AC). Once properly attired, I grabbed a worn down copy of Twilight* and poured myself a bowl of sugary cereal. All alone in the house, I wallowed in my misery... and loved every second of it. I even contemplated watching 7 Pounds (for those who haven't seen it, it's wonderfully depressing. One of my all-time favorites), or maybe even The Road. (But I have to read it first!!! *insert rage face*)

For some reason, my favorite movies and/or books are the ones where the main character dies, but it has to be in the perfect way or at least well written/filmed. Nothing makes a story more profound then "Oh my gosh... he's dead. WTH?!?" So if anyone has any good recommendations for sad movies, books or music, let me know!

*I must not have been that depressed, because if I was I probably would have grabbed New Moon, which is by far one of the most depressing books I've read.

Also, check my Deviant Art Feature!!
Here is Alexiuss' Gallery, and I might add, one of my all time favorites!

Like A Boss

So I'm feeling especially friendly and awfully nice. Today is glorious Friday! So wonderful, in fact, that there should be a song in it's honor! Oh, wait... never mind. Anyway, I'm feeling like a social butterfly today: chatting up my coworkers, handling the phones like a boss, and pwning like a savage with the walk-in clients. Why is this day so good? I don't think I'll tell you, but it has to do with a small, insignificant thing that happened this morning that I probably over-thought and blew way out of proportion... which is how I roll.

I also feel really cool because I changed the water jug on the water cooler... without struggling! I'm sure everyone in the office appreciated it. Cool water for everybody!!! : D

The only thing that would make this day better, is if I could go home already. I love work, but I'm ready to fire the engines and start the weekend. Speaking of engines, my car is currently in the repair shop... sad day.  But hopefully I hear back from them today that absolutely nothing is wrong with my car, and that the noises I heard was me over reacting again, AND that my car is actually getting YOUNGER and has LESS miles on it then I originally thought! Wunderbar! Ich liebe mein auto!! Ich liebe alle menschen! Kommentar wenn Sie zu übersetzen hatte!! <-  yelling in German.

Hooray for Google, right? Anyway, to further my niceness streak today, I am now going to feature a Deviant Art artist at the end of my blog for each entry, so I want you guys to check them out and appreciate them, like I do.

Before I Fade Away...

Not sure why this came to me, but I started thinking about the things I want to do before I die.  Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that I wont keel over at any moment from a random brain aneurysm, so I don't want to be totally obsessed with this list.  These are the things I would like to get done, that I would like to do. If for some reason, whether it be death, disability, or the apocalypse, that stops me from finishing this list, I can honestly say I wont be too upset. If you want to know why, you will have to read my mind.  Although some of you may already know.

Now as I get older, money is becoming an important part of life, and the accumulation of such is a necessary task. In the money aspect, I would like to be able to pay for my own college without the help of my parents. With 4 other children besides me, they have enough to worry about.  I would also like to never own a credit card and never have to go into debt.  I believe with strict planning and budgeting, this can be possible.

Now travel.  I would love to say I plan to travel the world, but seeing as I am a being of logic, I will say I want to go to a select few places.  To begin, Rome. Splendid, powerful Rome (in it's glory years). If you mention it around my sister or I, we will assume a glassy-eyed dreamy expression and a smile of fascination. I would have to take my sister with me if I didn't want her to slit my throat when I got back.  Also, I would like to go to South America for the sole purpose of walking through ancient ruins. New York would also be pleasant to stroll through.

'Things to accomplish', I think to myself as I eat my Curious George fruit snacks. Well, I'd have to say I want to be in a dance performance with the costumes and everything. Paint something that can be sold for over $100.  Get published. Even if that means just a short story. But I will finish at least one novel. I want to find a wonderful man and marry him. I want to decorate a whole house, that includes painting the walls to my liking. I want to swim in a warm ocean and go on a horseback adventure.

I actually thought this list would be much longer, but then again, there are a few things I omitted for the sake of personal matters. And as I said before, not all of this needs to happen for me to have a fulfilled life.

Write your own list, or comment your ideas below. <3

For the Sake of Samus' Sanity

I'm sad to say I just don't get along with myself.  I never listen to me, and I constantly criticize and belittle me.  The worst part is we have to share a room and work together all day.  So here I am, sitting at my desk.  Nothing to do.  And all I hear is me nagging at myself to get back to work.  I'd like to see her do some work!  Oh!  And then the handsome older man from the business next door is walking by.

"Don't look up, don't look up..."
"Would you stop talking please??"
"Oh, he's going to see you talking to yourself."
"You're the one who keeps on talking!!"
"Ooo, he saw us."
"....piss.."

The man passes.  Do you see what I mean? I'm insufferable.  Not to mention my hair is being all crazy today.  It's about time I get a haircut.  And I blame myself for how I'm dressed.  I look like a Frump Master.  (If you don't know what that is, sound it out).  The handsome man walks past again with his chiseled chin and I curse my young age.

At this point I'm writing for the sake of sanity.

One thing I do, which is almost a good idea, is write down bits of inspiration I have throughout the day for stories, drawings, projects, etc.  I put these mostly on little sticky notes and place it is my purse.  The only bad part is I throw everything else in my purse, so unless I go through and clean it out, those ideas will be no more that paper to spit my gum into.  Speaking of which, I would love to be drawing right now.  I would love to be wearing no shoes, shorts, and a baggy tee.  I would love to be laying on my couch at this very moment, maybe even reading one of my numerous books.

I would also love to ride a unicorn home from work today while wearing Samus' Battle Suit, but we know how much of a possibility that is.

Stomach Monsters

Ten minutes till I'm off work.  Just wanted to write that I have purchased 15 new books in the past week and a half. I'm on a roll! I still need to figure out when I will have time to read all of them.

Last night I was having a terrifying nightmare when I realized, 'Hey, maybe I should just wake up'. So I did, but it took some time laying there in the dark to try and calm my mind. Focus my thoughts on something entirely different. I didn't want anymore dreams about monsters popping out of my bloody stomach. I remember when I was little and sharing a room with my sisters; whenever I woke up from a bad dream I would just turn to I could see my sister, Ariel , and it helped me come back to reality and I always slept much better after that. So if you read this, Ariel, thanks.

Four minutes to go, and I have to pee. Ttyl!

Blame It On The Books

Blog...

Blllloooooogg.

Bllllog.

That's a really gross sounding word. Blog. Sounds like a morbidly obese man barfing.
Sorry if that ruined the experience for you. I'm just feeling feisty today. I feel like running wild because I currently feel trapped as well. Someone has a collar around me and I don't appreciate it much. In fact, I think it's downright safe to say I hate it with a passion.

I didn't want to go to bed last night, and I really didn't want to get up this morning. And although I am super thankful for the great job that I have, I would love to be far away from here right now. I blame this on books. They make me jealous and screw with my mind. I'd say if I'm not seriously focused on something, then I am daydreaming. Probably 92% of my waking life is spent in some little fantasy cloud. Seriously, 92%.

Crap, I just got the Preamble to the Constitution stuck in my head...

I need to get out of here. But if I do, I'll just have another commitment to do when I get home and it's almost worse than work at this point. See how I'm trapped? There are more important things than these mindless tasks I do all day. Sure, it's important to my bosses, but for some reason Law doesn't hold my interest.  Once again, I blame it on the books. All those books that I love, the ones I hate. The ones that stare at me on the shelf, itching my curiosity, until I break down and have to buy it.

I'd say it's a love/hate relationship. They have this way of making my life seem uninteresting, unimportant, unfulfilling, uninspired, un... yeah. You get the point. But there is no way I'd ever stop reading them. Sometimes you just need an escape. I just have to be careful to not get addicted to it.

My brain is warped.

I need to get back to pretending like I have something to do. Sorry for the negativity and ranting.

Peace out.

A Good Day with a Splash of Rage

Good day so far. The first 4-5 hours of work usually are the longest, but today for some reason, they seemed to zip by. It's now almost 2 and I'm finishing up on my lunch (I've been eating leftovers for the last 4 days).

I just jumped into this blog and realized that I don't have much to say, but for the sake of creativity and possibly sanity, I force myself to press onward.

.  .  .

Let's just say that I'm on fire.  My brain is burning, my eyes are burning, the muscles in my back and legs are burning.  The source of the fire is uncertain.  But I just realized I'm angry.  Or just feeling feisty.  I'm frustrated with this black swivel chair that is my constant companion 9 hours a day, 5 days a week.  I'm mad at the little lizard outside my window that taunts me, saying "you can't catch me, sucker".  I'm fed up with married men strolling about the office making their coffee, leaving the toilet seat up, and being devilishly distracting.  I'm angry at my hair for being split at the ends and my suede shoes that are getting dirty from overuse.  I'm mad at my skirt for continuing to rise up to my bellybutton, a place I believe no clothes line should touch.  I'm frustrated with eBay and all the sellers on there, for making me wait for the items I purchased.  And I'm still on fire.

And I'm still having a good day.  I have 3.5 hours of work left and someone just gave me a new project that entitles me to draw on paper; something that undeniably fills me with joy.  I do have something to do later tonight, but I don't feel like doing it.  I'm feeling like an innie bellybutton.  I just want some time to myself, maybe float in the pool despite the fact I may not get any sun, damning me to eternal whiteness, but that's okay with me.  I just want some quiet time where I don't have to move, or think about your feelings, my feelings, work, males, text messages, Facebook, calories, plans, obligations, surgeries, nothing.

Silence. Floating on the perfectly lukewarm water. Bobbing quietly on the slight ripples.

I'm not sure if you can hear that, but I sure can. and right now, that's all I want in the world. But I wont get it. Not today. Maybe I could try late at night if I'm not too busy. But that's okay if I can't.

Because today is still a good day.

That Hungry Short Girl

I don't really have a problem with my size, but some days I fantasize about being 5'9" will long legs and elegant features.  Heck, I'd settle for 5'5 and a smaller nose!  Another thing about my size (thankfully, I'm over 5') is that people tend to think I'm younger than I actually am, and I believe they tend to take me less seriously.

So at work, I'm the new girl, and trying to find my little place is hard.  I'm not sure how I'm supposed to act exactly.  My last job was cake since I was the only English speaker, therefore I partially dominated.  New job?  I think they see me as The Short Hungry Girl.  I'm definitely the youngest (I'll be pushing 19 soon, woot!), and most definitely the smallest.  Everyone else is either married or has been married; some even have kids close to my age.  Not to be all sobby, but I feel very unqualified.  I haven't been breathing as long as they have; you could say I'm still "wet behind the ears".

Oh, to explain the 'Hungry' part of my title.  I don't know about the rest of the human race, but I find it harder to work while I'm hungry, so I prefer to have food nearby so I don't start chewing on the desk.  I started taking my lunch breaks at Safeway, stocking up on pop-tarts, pb&j, and Ritz.  A whole lot of Ritz.

Nancy (my motherly co-worker), now sees me as the girl that will eat anything with sugar in it.  That's not entirely true, but I wont outright deny it.  She brings in things her own daughter wont eat (i.e. granola bars, toaster stroodles), because she knows that I'll eat them for her.  A nice gesture, but I feel misunderstood.

I'm pretty sure no one here takes me seriously.  I'm the girl who sends the fax and puts the postage on your letters... and is hungry 24/7.  That's another thing, I'm going to have to start getting active if I want to keep my girlish figure.  I don't want to get what my dad likes to call "Office-Butt".  Don't tell me you don't know what that means; we've all seen it (or have it).

New goals:

  • Become respected and feared!  ...okay, respected.
  • Find a way to get active (like a sport or actually use my gym membership).
  • Buy healthier food to keep around the office.
  • Ween myself off of Pop-Tarts and Ramen.
  • Turn 19. (Hey, I want to be able to meet at least 1 of my goals).
  • Kiss my boyfriend. (Okay, there's 2).
  • Convince others to write down their own goals.
(Really, you should.  It's very helpful and I've always heard it's only a wish until it's written down.)

*whew* That was a good blogging session, I believe.  I'm going to go get a cookie to celebrate.

Till next time!  Peace.
